My first official Parent Teacher Conference: Sereniti

 I thought these were so cute and found her blonde hair quite funny!

When I came home from Phoenix's conference and told Erik about his work outside his classroom Sereniti kept bragging about her turkey, found it and she did a fabulous job!

Today was Sereniti's first parent teacher conference and her teacher was very impressed with her.  She can write her numbers quite well and was impressed by how correctly she writes her name.  I think the preschool she was in last year did wonders for her.  The only thing I was worried about was her attention span as she seems to get bored easily but her teacher said she did fine.  She just has to keep her and Taydin separated so they don't work on their social life ;)  She said to just keep doing what we were doing homework wise because it seems to be working.

Yesterday I had Phoenix's parent teacher conference which I was excited about, man my kids are growin up!  At the beginning of the year we set goals to help him with his behavior, his attention, and his speech.  All of his scores were 50% or higher, man was I proud.  His teachers have never seen the kid they met the first day (messes and not listening), yay!  He has a harder time following directions in larger groups (actions to songs and such) but put him with just 2 or 3 people where he has more individualized attention and he rocks =)  We made a goal to have him sit in a chair for 4min, as he has way too much energy and he's up to 1min sometimes 2min.  It may not seem like a big deal to some people but for me to see my son is making progress is awesome.  His speech is getting better, he is using more 2, 3 and 4 word sentences.  His speech is a little more clear, as my husband has pointed out since I can understand him almost always.  After all his seizures and having them slowly set him back he's movin forward and this mommy couldn't be prouder!

Looky Looky!  I am so excited!!!  Still hasn't completely set in, prob wont till I get it confirmed by a doc.  Although signs have popped up all month I have tried to ignore them, but now the feelings made sense.... Ahh baby # 3!!!!!!

Woo Hoo Khalib!

 Khalib got his advanced blue belt in taekwondo we are so proud of him!

We don't normally get to watch his competitions and awards things so I was tickled pink when I went to pick him up and found out he hadn't tested yet, Erik couldn't be there but I was able to get his accomplishment on film.

Phoenix's first day of school

 Phoenix started his second yr of preschool, this yr he gets to go to a regular elementary which he loves.  He says he goes to school like Sereniti.

Ha Ha caught him mid word!  He even gets to ride the bus this yr, though for some reason he isn't a fan of it he'd rather I just took him.  He loves school yet yearns to be home with mommy....

Fair Day!

 We always go to the fair as my mom's bday party since it comes around her bday.  This yr when we got there, this bee was walking around giving stickers to kids (I don't remember what the reason was) and he decided to hop on our stroller so Erik took him for a bit of a ride.  The kids, my bro and I couldn't stop laughing!  After the bee left Erik was like  WTF was that for?

 The kids loved all the rides, it was great.  This yr we got to bring Khalib which totally made his wknd.  It is crazy to think about how much he's grown, he is in the inbetween rides phase so I enjoyed a few rides with him.

 Phoenix was excited to go high with the family, he kept laughing.

My lovely bro doesn't like his pic taken but I made him and this is the face I got.  Sereniti kept looking over the edge and sayin "Look how high we are I can see the city!"  I love family times!

Sereniti's first day of school

 Sereniti started kindergarten this yr!  My baby is growing up.  Typical mom cried a few times but by the time school got out I had excepted it. 

She loves kindergarten, especially since she gets to be in the same class as her "cousin".  We always wanted our girls to be best friends and now that we live in the neighborhood these gorgeous girls are gonna break the boys hearts.

Our Valentines Date

So Erik planned our Vday date this yr, we always do it a wk after to avoid all the chaos and we started it by hitting the gym.... can you tell a guy planned this or what?!  LOL  No really it was fun, we always talk about goin to the gym but usually can't due to kids or work schedules.  This is us before we got there.

This is us after he told me we were gettin a couple's message and going to see New Moon so he evened it out!  We enjoyed our time together but headed home early due to money and missin our babies.  So after the movie we ate at The Training Table and hit the grocery store, nice way to end a date huh?  Well I love this guy anyway and wouldn't change a thing!

Sometimes

Lately I have been having a lot of issues being away from my family for so long, I've always wanted to either work from home or only part time but of course you know how that goes the economy won't let us just be moms anymore.

I have been feeling like a bad mom with no control over things due to me working in Park City so just add 2hrs onto whatever my shift is for drive time, at irst I told myself I could do it cuz the money was good but emotionally I can't do it and I want to have another baby soon and I refuse to be away from it for 10-11hrs a day.  Well yesterday I was lucky enough to have my daughter tell me I'm the best mom ever, you know we love to hear that but I guess it was something I needed to hear because she brought tears to my eyes!  Then last night my mother in law decided I needed a girls night so she invited me over for a hottubbin girls night.  I headed over about 9:10 and we hot tubbed for about an hr then went inside to finish our conversation, I was there till 12:30am!  All we did was talk and exchange stories but it was so nice!  I have always been the one to listen, this started when I was a kid I just love to help people but sometimes I need to talk too but I don't like to bother people too much with my issues.  Well I came home with less stress then I headed over there with, I came home appreciating everything I have.  Sometimes you just need someone to listen and not judge.  Sometimes you just need that nod or agreement, not someone to fix things.  Sometimes you just need to feel special and appreciated.  Sometimes you just need to have someone who understands and tells you hey you aren't doing anything wrong, in fact you're doin a great job.  Last night I was lucky enough to enjoy a night like that thanks to this woman Mom Jan, you rock ツ  between Sereniti and your love I know I can make it and realize for my situation I am a great mom and person!

They care....

So I had a dentist appointment this morning and I have this huge phobia of them because like so many people I had a bad experience with them as a child.  Well I had them gas me and numb me more than needed ( I told them I didn't want to feel anything for a month), so I came home and explained to Sereniti what had been done at the dentist since she didn't believe I went.  Well during chill time she tried tomkeep Phoenix quiet so "mommy could sleep".  She was such an angel to let me rest, her brother even fell asleep HAHA and after 2 movies she took herself downstairs and played her games till I was ready to get up.  Also tonight I apparently have a girls night with my mother in law to ease some of my stresses, at least she told me I needed some time to relax so I'm excited.
